FTTx Solutions

We design and build FTTx fibre access networks for residential developments, gated communities, hotels, and retirement villages, helping network owners and contractors choose the right approach and make sure every element works together on site.

FTTx fibre access networks

FTTx covers a range of fibre access architectures, including fibre to the home, fibre to the building, and fibre to the curb. The right design depends on the environment, the build method, and how the network will be operated over time. atg works across the full picture, from architecture and product selection through to installation and training.

Fibre access architectures

FTTx is an umbrella term covering several network types. FTTH brings fibre into individual homes, FTTB to a shared building point, and FTTC to a curbside cabinet that serves nearby premises. Choosing between them comes down to density, distance, build constraints, and the service requirements of the end users.

Air‑blown fibre in FTTx

Air‑blown fibre (ABF) is widely used in FTTx because it lets operators stage their build. Microduct goes in first, and fibre is blown in as connections are needed. It is not the right answer for every project, so atg reviews project size, rollout phasing, environment, and future expansion plans before recommending it. The result is a network that avoids overbuilding today while staying adaptable later.

Pre‑terminated and plug‑and‑play fibre

Pre‑terminated assemblies cut on‑site work by using factory‑tested, custom‑length fibre. Once the underlying infrastructure is in, installation becomes faster and more consistent, with less field splicing. On FTTx rollouts across many homes or units, this approach helps keep quality steady and timelines predictable.

Built for the long life of the network

FTTx networks are long‑life infrastructure. Decisions made at design and build stage shape performance, maintenance effort, and upgrade options for years after handover. Our work focuses on network reliability, serviceability, and fault isolation, clean installation and documentation, and clear paths for future upgrades.

Where this is used

FTTx solutions suit new residential developments and subdivisions, gated communities, hotels and hospitality environments, retirement villages, and multi‑dwelling developments. Any environment that needs reliable connectivity for many end users in a defined area benefits from a well‑designed FTTx network.

Who it’s for

Network owners, developers, and contractors planning new or expanded fibre access networks. Whether the project is a single residential build or a staged rollout across a large estate, the requirement is the same: a network that performs reliably on day one and stays serviceable over time. atg supports customers across this full spectrum.

How atg helps customers

atg helps customers plan, specify, and build the right FTTx network for the site and the long term. That covers solution design and architecture planning, fibre cables and connectivity hardware, pre‑terminated assemblies where installation speed and consistency matter, and certified fibre and air‑blown fibre training for installers and network owners. The aim is to make every stage of an FTTx project easier to deliver, from first design through to ongoing operation.

FTTx is one part of atg's wider work in Fibre Optic Connectivity and Infrastructure. Customers who start with us on access networks often come back for commercial buildings, industrial sites, data centres, and specialised environments.

Frequently asked questions

FTTx stands for fibre to the x. It is an umbrella term covering fibre access architectures including fibre to the home (FTTH), fibre to the building (FTTB), and fibre to the curb (FTTC). The "x" stands for how close the fibre reaches the end user.
